Tinggalan masjid Tengkera sebenar (remains of the original mosque of Tengkera)

OK. Satu cerita pendek Melaka sebelum kita kembali ke Perak. Mari!
OK. One short story on Melaka before we return to Perak. Come!

Some 3km out of the city of Melaka, heading to Tanjung Kling that is through the coastal road one could see this tower. I've been past this road many times but it's only recently that I realised what tower this is...

All this while I never bothered about it although I'm slightly puzzled just looking at it. It's just recently I felt like taking pictures only to realise this is the tower to the original Tengkera mosque said to have been built in 1728.

Untuk huraian lanjut, sila baca Masjid (Mosque of) Tengkera, Melaka . Sekian...

The original mosque have long been destroyed (can't remember why) but a replacement mosque was built not long later, 500km to the north. For more explanation please read Masjid (Mosque of) Tengkera, Melaka . That's all...

Makam (Tomb of) Hang Tuah di (in) Tanjung Keling, Melaka...

Mari...
Still in Melaka, this time in Tanjung Keling. Come...

At one part of Tanjung Keling, there lies a Muslim burial ground. At its side there exist a fenced area which is said to be the tomb of Hang Tuah.

Makam ini kelihatan terjaga begitu baik. Jadi siapakah Hang Tuah?

The tomb looks like it is very well-kept. So who is Hang Tuah? I believe the name needs no further introduction as Hang Tuah is a big name for a Melaka Malay warrior of the 15th Century AD. Please read the information shown below...

Dalam bahasa Melayu...

In the English language...

Look at the tomb which stands out long marking his status as one big name... For the story on Hang Tuah, please look at the further information provided below. To look at it more closely and in detail, please open the pictures below in new windows...

Sekian! :]

Hang Tuah is said to be famous with the magical words "Tak Melayu Hilang di Dunia." (literally, "The Malays won't disappear from the earth"). Whatever according to those in the know, this tomb in Tanjung Keling, around 10km from the centre of modern day city of Melaka is not the actual tomb of Hang Tuah. This warrior is said to have just disappeared into thin air without a thrace but since the Sultan or ruler of Melaka of his time is said to often stare out to Tanjung Keling since he disappeared, so a tomb was erected there as a marking. That's all! :]

Asal usul nama (Origin of the name) Masjid Tanah

OK. Mari...
OK. We jump for a short while to Melaka. I believe all Malaysian citizens have heard the name of a place there called Masjid Tanah. But do you know where or how did that name came about or originated? Come...

Right in the middle of the small town of Masjid Tanah, one could see this mosque...

Masjid lama ini dikatakan dibina tahun 1900an...

This old mosque is said to have been built in the 1900an...

Rekabentuknya serupa kebanyakan masjid lama di Melaka...

Its design and architecture is similar to most old mosque in Melaka...

Then again maybe this is not the original architecture and design as it is said at the entrance that the mosque was refurbished in the year 1951.

Apapun inilah kawasan kolah tempat mengambil wuduk.

Whatever this is the pool for making abulation.

Dewan solat...

The hall for prayers...

Bentuk siling yang menarik...

An interesting ceiling design...

Inilah asal-usul nama Masjid Tanah!

At one wall there exist a bit of the remains of the old original mosque built from clay. This is the origin of the name Masjid Tanah (literally translated as the clay mosque)!

Satu pandangan bahagian hadapan dewan...
A look at the front part of the hall...

Tempat imam bersolat ini kelihatan begitu menenangkan!

This place for the imam (leader of the prayer congregation) looks so calming!

Di sisi kiri luar masjid pula terdapat sebuah makam terserlah, katanya milik seorang ulamak dari Gujerat, India...

At the left side of the mosque outside there lies a tomb which stands out, said to belong to a religious scholar from Gujerat, India...

Di hadapan masjid terdapat beberapa buah kubur...

In front of the mosque there exist some graves...

Satu pandangan sisi masjid. Sekian...

A look from the sides of the mosque. That's all...
